Pickleball Program Coordinator

Part-Time (Approx. 30 hours/week)
Mill River Resort Aquaplex

Position Summary

The Pickleball Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, organizing, and overseeing pickleball programming at the Aquaplex. This position will manage league play, drop-in sessions, beginner clinics, and special events such as mini tournaments and instructional seminars. The coordinator will play a key role in building a welcoming pickleball community while ensuring programs run smoothly and safely.

This position will work primarily afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends.


Key Responsibilities

Program Coordination

  • Organize and manage weekly pickleball leagues (beginner, intermediate, and advanced).
  • Coordinate drop-in pickleball sessions throughout the week.
  • Plan and execute occasional weekend events including mini tournaments and instructional clinics.

Event Planning

  • Develop and schedule pickleball events and programming calendars.
  • Promote upcoming programs and events to increase participation.
  • Coordinate registration and participant communication.

Facility Operations

  • Set up and maintain pickleball courts and equipment.
  • Monitor gameplay and assist participants with court rotation and rules.
  • Ensure a positive and inclusive environment for players of all skill levels.

Community Development

  • Welcome new players and assist beginners in learning the game.
  • Encourage participation and foster a friendly pickleball community.
  • Assist with growing the pickleball program through outreach and engagement.

Administrative Duties

  • Track program participation.
  • Assist with scheduling and reporting.
  • Work with Aquaplex management on program improvements.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of pickleball rules and gameplay.
  • Experience organizing sports leagues or recreational programming is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage groups and provide clear direction during gameplay.
  • Friendly, professional, and community-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends.

Compensation

  • Approx. 30 hours per week
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience
