Location: Mill River Resort, PEI

Reports to: Spa Manager


Major Outcome

Provide exceptional guest service as the leader of the Spa team by administering professional facials, waxing services, nail services and body treatments according to Aveda protocol and rituals to our guests.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity;
  • Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner;
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives;
  • Provide consistent professional facial and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices;
  • Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa;
  • Operate and adjust heat, air conditioning, lighting, sound system etc… as needed and applicable to your work area;
  • Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls;
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training guests in these areas;
  • Actively promote home care programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals;
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures;
  • Operate point of sale system for all services rendered;
  • Perform prep work and properly clean and restock room as required;
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention;
  • Answer telephone inquiries promptly and professionally;
  • Knowledgeable about all aspects of treatments and the facility;
  • Provide information and literature about facility in person and via telephone
  • Clerical duties, treatment bookings/scheduling;
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available;
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment;
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa;
  • Support and promote the resort as a whole being helpful to other areas when necessary;
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualification & Skills

  • Certification/Diploma in esthetics and spa therapies;
  • Previous experience as a Massage Practitioner is an asset;
  • Above average knowledge and familiarity with Aveda products and service;
  • Excellent communication and listening skills;
  • Have high quality of standards for service, customer service focused;
  • Be courteous and friendly, genuinely like interacting with people;
  • Strong team player;
  • Be able to work independently under minimal supervision;
  • Be trustworthy and reliable;
  • Ability to adapt to change, think on your feet ;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • This is a fast paced environment during certain times of the year in which you will work under pressure, with tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, and attention to detail will be necessary;
  • This position is physically demanding and involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, carrying laundry, standing for extended periods of time, bending, crouching and kneeling;
  • Flexible availability for days, evenings, holidays and weekends.
