Curling Club Manager

Mill River Resort Vision:
To develop the Mill River Property, to be a Centre of Excellence for tourism, recreation, and wellness in West Prince.

Major Outcome:
The curling club Manager is responsible for the operation and management of the Curling Club facility. They oversee the day to day-to-day activities, coordinate events, manage staff and ensure the club operates smoothly.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Facility Operations:

    • Manage and maintain the facility, ensuring it is clean, well maintained, and safe for both members and visitors.
    • Maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies including curling stones, brushes, and other necessary materials.
    • Oversee the scheduling and maintenance of ice sheets following industry standards to ensure optimal play

2. Event Coordination:

    • Coordinate and organize club events, tournaments, leagues, and competitions.
    • Collaborate with club members and committees and external organizations to plan and execute events.
    • Promote and advertise club events to attract participation and increase member engagement.

3. Member Services and Relations:

    • Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing member concerns and feedback promptly and professionally.
    • Develop and implement programs and initiatives to enhance member experience and create a positive club environment.
    • Foster Strong relationships with member, promoting a sense of community and encouraging ongoing participation.

4. Staff Management

    • Recruit train and supervise club staff, maintenance and personal.
    • Create work schedules.
    • Foster a positive work environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in managing sports facilities an asset.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of curling rules regulations and industry best practices
  • Familiarity with basic financial management principles
  • Proficiency in using technology, incl.

Qualification & Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
  • Experience with food prep and food safety
  • Familiarity with managing cash, using POS systems.
  • Experience with food prep and food safety
  • WHMIS training is considered an asset.
  • Detail oriented, organized and efficient
  • Have high quality of standards for service, customer service focused.
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Proven leadership, interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Be trustworthy and dependable.
  • Adaptable to change and be able to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and handle, lift and move objects up to 20lbs over short distances.
  • Flexible availability for days, evenings, holidays, and weekends
